Astro Craft is capable of machining metallic and non-metallic materials to customer specifications, whether intended for engineering samples or for established components in a customer's product line. Our Quality Department is equipped with a variety of inspection equipment for both in-process and final inspection. Astro Craft has a Quality Control Manual based on ISO 9002, along with a documented calibration system.

Astro Craft utilizes state-of-the-art CNC vertical machining centers and turning centers as well as conventional equipment for the production of precision parts to customer's specifications. Our CNC machining systems are equipped with numerous standard features such as automatic tool changing on our mills and quick change tooling systems on our lathes to increase productivity and reduce non-cutting time. Our shop floor is arranged into machining workcells to maximize productivity and minimize material handling. Our CNC setup personnel and operators are experienced and trained. All CNC equipment is maintained under service contracts to reduce downtime.

Astro Craft generates all of its CNC part programming and fixture design in-house. Our experienced programmers have established systematic methods to efficiently produce new part programs. All programs are cataloged and stored to expedite repeat orders. IGES and DXF formats are welcomed to help expedite programming time.

As an added service to our customers, we may recommend materials and alternative part configurations to enhance manufacturability while maintaining part integrity. Customers can use our technical expertise to get their prototypes manufactured and into production with less in-house development time. Recommendations by our experienced staff many times reduced part cost as well as speed manufacturing time.

Astro Craft is equipped with conventional milling, turning, drilling and grinding equipment for machining of standard grades of steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, castings, and various non-metallics. Some of the many other services that we can provide include honing, sawing, welding, and assembly. Our teamwork enables us to improve shop floor operations, improve material flow and production control, thereby increasing the efficiency of our production operation.
